宮本 武蔵
An ardent samurai who arrives in Kyoto to prove he is unmatched in the way of the sword — only for his path to take a strange and unexpected turn. His Oni Gauntlet grants power beyond human limits and absorbs Genma souls to grow ever stronger.

小野 篁 · Ono Takamura
A highly skilled swordsman who carries an Oni Gauntlet of his own and vanquishes Genma with ease despite his old age. Following the voice in his gauntlet, Musashi seeks him out.
出雲 阿国 · Izumo Okuni
A young dancer whose kabuki performances have brought her fame across the city. Through certain circumstances she comes to Ono no Takamura seeking the power to defeat the Genma.
鬼の佳人 · Oni no Kajin
A female Oni housed within Musashi's Oni Gauntlet. She usually supports him from within, but can manifest before him when the need arises.
佐々木 巖流 · Kojirō Sasaki
Musashi's destined rival and an antagonist who also wears an Oni Gauntlet. He stands as the demo's final boss.
酒呑童子
A large Genma who resides within a fortress atop Mount Oe, his heinous acts knowing no bounds. He takes his name from the legendary Oni of folklore.
大唾拉
A towering Genma that revels in wreaking havoc with mighty swings of its club. Constantly in a state of hunger, it seeks out sustenance with obsessive fervor.
道狂
An unusual entity who spends much of her time in a laboratory beneath the capital, engrossed in creating new Genma variants — the facility's eerie nature making her twisted tastes plain.
